Hiding Place

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Psalms 32:7

King David is a man who loves God and experienced the touch of God in His life. He faced many trials and challenges in his life. He faced the giant, wars, difficult moments and other daily life’s challenges. But no matter what comes in his ways, no weapon formed against him prospered. He was able to defeat the giant, he experienced victory in wars and he found ways for his daily challenges.

What was King David’s secret that enabled him to reign in life? He has only one secret and that was the LORD Almighty. The Lord was with him and he was able to live a victorious life because the hand of God was upon Him. David learned to trust God in everything he faced in his life. When he faced problems and hard times, he didn’t run all over the world to find solutions. But David always draws himself into God’s presence for solutions. The LORD Almighty was his hiding place, “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Psalms 32:7. David put his security in the Lord alone. David did not place his hope and security in his possession even though he was king; he did not put his trust and security in his warriors even though he had many good fighters with him. David knew only the Lord can be his help forever, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:2.

When David trusted the Lord and made the Lord his security and his hiding place at all times, he was able to do extraordinary things in his life. Because David’s hope was upon the Lord, the Lord was able to guide and lead him to do the right thing to bring him out victoriously, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalms 32:8.

How about you, where do you put your security? Where is your hiding place? Is your job, money and your own talents your security and hiding place? My friend the Lord is your greatest hiding place and in Him you are truly secure. No one could touch you when you are in His hiding place and the Lord confirms our security through His spoken Word, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28. No matter what comes in your ways the Lord is able to make many ways where there seems to be no way.

Dearest, don’t be afraid of what you are facing in life right now. The LORD Almighty is your hiding place. No weapon, no sickness, no poverty and no evil powers could snatch you from His hand. Trust in Him with all your heart; surely He will guide you and lead you to do the right thing. His voice that leads and His gentle touch is able to bring you out from whatever that you are facing right now. Just fix your eyes on the Lord and He will fix your problems. He is your hiding place.
