Forgive As The Lord Forgave You

"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13

All of us were once lost due to sin in life. Because of our sinful nature, we were cut off from having relationships and communion with God. We were under the judgment of God's wrath over us. But today you and I are no longer under that judgment anymore. By the grace and mercy of God we are forgiven and washed clean by the blood of the Lamb of God. The Lord Jesus has redeemed you and me from the wrath of God, and He has taken all judgment and curse upon Himself.

You are living and breathing today by His grace. Our relationship with God has been restored by His great sacrifice. He forgave our many sins. He paid the biggest price for your sin on the cross in order that you may have forgiveness and new life. If God can forgive our sins, why at times is it so difficult for us to forgive someone who has sinned against us or has wronged us?

The key to forgiving others is to remember how much God has forgiven you. Realizing God's infinite love and forgiveness can help you and I love and forgive others. The Bible says, "Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3: 13. My friend, do not let the bitterness of un-forgiveness rule your life and don't keep anyone in the "un- forgiveness" box in your heart. When you do not forgive someone, you are keeping a lot of garbage and bitterness in you. You will not look nice when you are bitter. You may think that you are punishing the one that hurts you by not forgiving them, but the truth is you are the one who is suffering and only hurting yourself by not forgiving someone.

You do not have to punish or payback someone who has sinned against you; let God be your vindicator. Just let them go, release forgiveness towards them and let God handle everything. I understand it is not easy; but by the grace of God it is possible for you to forgive someone. God said, "My grace is sufficient for you." 2 Corinthians 12: 9.

Dearest, God has given us enough grace to forgive someone today. By faith, step out of all that is holding you back. Be gracious and forgive as the Lord has been so gracious to forgive you.
